This gem of Eastern Wisdom, first published in 1889, is a translation and commentary by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky (1831 - 1891). Blavatsky of a manuscript known as the Book of the Golden Precepts. It is one of three philosophical classics , which are invaluable to aspirants on the spiritual Path, the other two being At the Feet of the Master and Light on the Path. It contains profound teachings expressed in poetical language with beautiful imagery. It has run into many editions and has been translated into several languages.

" 22. Three Halls, O weary Pilgrim lead to the end of toils. Three Halls, O conqueror of Māyā, will bring thee through three states into the fourth and thence into the seven worlds, the worlds of Rest Eternal.

23. If thou wouldst learn their names, then hearken, and remember.

24. The name of the first Hall is Ignorance - Avidyā

25. It is the Hall in which thou saw'st the light, in which thou livest and shalt die.

26. The name of the Hall the second is the Hall of Learning. In it thy Soul will find the blossoms of life, but under every flower a serpent coiled.

27. The name of the third Hall is Wisdom, beyond which stretch the shoreless waters of Akshara, the indestructible fount of omniscience. "
