From this book:

  • If you desire you can quite definitely set your feet on the way to discipleship . . . You can dedicate yourself to Them and Their representative in the outer world . . . If you will take every opportunity, make every effort, you will soon come to know Them.
  • If an individual can intensify in himself or herself the spirit of service, he or she is well on the road to discipleship, for service is a great characteristic of those, who desire to attain.
  • If you are in the presence of the Master you always know what to do. Why? Because He/She lifts you out of your smaller Self into your higher Self. When in the presence of your higher Self, you know what to do.

From page 196:

" We make everything entangled. Life is extremely simple. If you will endeavor to put aside pride and control mind and emotions, then you will not have the slightest difficulty in making any decision or coming to any conclusion. […] One of God's greatest gifts is to give us sufficient power to meet all emergencies. You are never encouraged to ask questions or to bring your troubles to the Elder Brethren. You are expected to shoulder your own troubles. You have Buddhic, Nirvanic and Monadic consciousness at your disposal, ultimately but not afar off. Get to work to see all these laws much more clearly. Make this your slogan: 'I can do it!' "
